Swim South East is one of 8 regions of The ASA, the English national governing body for swimming, diving, water polo, open water, and synchronised swimming. The Region covers Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, the Channel Islands, Oxfordshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Sussex and the parts of Surrey and Kent that are outside London.
Coach Development Workshops - June 2015

Spaces are still available on the Coach Development Workshops taking place in June. To view a detailed programme for the coach development workshops, please click on the course date;
Saturday 13th June– Stoke Mandeville Stadium, Aylesbury
Sunday 14th June– Cranleigh School, Cranleigh
The above workshops will cover effective communication, a practical pool session on stroke analysis and dry land training including corrective exercises. Speakers will include Diane Elliot and Lindsay Dunn from the ASA England Programmes Team and Evan Jenkins, a consultant for ASA England Programmes.
Saturday 20th June– Tonbridge School, Tonbridge
Sunday 21st June– Charterhouse Club, Godalming
The above workshops will cover a pool session on the fundamentals of effective starts and turns, strategies for an inclusive training environment and details of developing a performance swimming environment. Speakers will include Kevin Brookes, Wycombe District SC and Josh Williamson, Guildford City SC and Ellie Purvis, ASA Tutor.
Cost - £20 per coach (£10 per coach from a swim 21 accredited club)
City of Oxford SC bid to fund Timing Pads for the Blackbird Leys Pool

City of Oxford SC have put in a bid with the Aviva Community Fund for Timing Pads at the new Blackbird Leys Pool in Oxford. For more information on the bid and to support them by voting please click here. Voting closes Saturday 30th May 2015.

Sadly Mike Firmin passed away on 27th May 2015. Mike together with his wife Barbara, had been deeply involved in synchronised swimming through Rushmoor Synchronised SC for many years. Mike was also President of Hampshire County ASA in 1977 and again in 2000 and was well known in the South East Region.
Funeral arrangements will be published when they are available.
