Swim England have announced that five national swimming Performance Centres have been created across the country to support talented young swimmers. Two of these centres are within the South East, High Wycombe and Guildford. Swim England is working in partnership with swimming clubs and universities to give swimmers the opportunity to stay in the sport,
Swim England Talent have opened applications for our second cohort of Coach 2024 – 2018/2019. Applications will close on Monday 6th August. This is an application based programme running over 14months, commencing in October 2018 and is aimed at coaches who:- Coached swimmers onto England Talent phase 2 and 3 over the past 2/3 years
Tatiana Belonogoff (Guildford City) struck gold for Great Britain on the first day of the European Junior Swimming Championships. The 16-year-old was victorious in a close 50m Breaststroke final in Helsinki, Finland, to top the podium. Belonogoff clocked a time of 31.29 to touch home 0.07 seconds ahead of Germany’s Anna Elendt. On Sunday 17th June the region ran an open water camp for selected 12-16 year olds. The day consisted of a pool open water skills session, open water specific land training and a lake training session. The camp was based at the Excel Leisure Centre, Elmbridge and Shepperton Lake. University Club Support Funding is a Swim England initiative that is available to increase participation in Synchronised Swimming through the formation of a University Synchro section.
