The South East Region, in partnership with Swim England, are excited to announce a Club and Coach Development Day, taking place on Sunday 15th November before the South East Regional Awards.
The day includes a number of panel discussions and workshops that aim to provide insight and support to clubs on topics frequently requested through Swim England Roadshows and club feedback. Speakers and presenters include:
- Sara Todd, Chair of Swim England South East and board member of Swim England and Aquatics GB
- Craig McCulloch, Head of Coaching at Swim England
- Claire Coleman, Head of Aquatic Clubs and Membership at Swim England
- Paul Lloyd, Head Coach of Maidenhead Marlins Swimming Club
- Kristie Jarrett, Aquatics Development Lead for Swim England South East
- Emma Das, Sport Welfare Officer for Active Surrey
- And a selection of figures from across the region, national Swim England teams and a Sport England Buddle tutor

- Developing Positive Coaching Behaviour, discussing a personal coaching ethos and the impact of positivity on club culture – hosted by Paul Lloyd, Head Coach of Maidenhead Marlins
- Getting More From Your Membership System- exploring the new Sport80 membership platform, and best practices to integrate it seamlessly into your club – hosted by Claire Coleman, Head of Aquatics Clubs and Membership at Swim England
- Maximising Your Volunteer’s Experience, developing practical plans for engaging and sustaining volunteers effectively -presented by Buddle
11am to 11:15am – Refreshment Break
11:15am to 12:10pm – Workshops, including:
- Safe Aquatics: Keeping Everyone Safe, presented by the Swim England Safe Aquatics Team and Active Partnerships
- Working Together: Coaches and Committees, a practical workshop covering vision, values, culture, roles and effective communication hosted by Craig McCulloch, Head of Coaching at Swim England, and Kristie Jarrett, Aquatics Development Lead for Swim England South East
- Stronger Together: Collaborating in a Challenging Economy – a panel discussion exploring challenges and solutions faced by clubs, pool operators and local authorities. Hosted by Andy Jack, Club and Community Development Lead at Swim England.
12:15pm to 1pm – Panel Discussion: Futureproofing Aquatics. Led by Sara Todd, Chair of Swim England South East.
1pm to 2pm – Lunch, before the Swim England South East Regional Awards
