The ASA South East is one of eight ASA Regions established on 01 October 2005. It has the responsibility for the delivery of the ASA and Regional Strategy 2009-13 within the South East Region and is actively seeking to recruit a Chairman for the period 01 April 2010 – 31 March 2014 to provide strategic leadership and direction to the Regional Management Board.
The successful applicant will have line management responsibilities for the post of Regional Director and will be responsible for leading the activities of the Board.
Applicants must have excellent leadership skills and display evidence of understanding the sports development process. Previous experience of chairing a charity or professional board would be an advantage, alongside experience in working with a variety of external partners and volunteers.
The appointment will commence on 01 April 2010 and will involve attendance at regional and national meetings. This is a volunteer position; whilst travel expenses will be paid, no other remuneration will be given. Please note that the Chairman must be a member of a swimming club affiliated to the ASA South East Region.
