                        <title>Harold Fern & Alfred H Turner Awards</title>
                        <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The ASA is seeking nominations for the Harold Fern and Alfred H. Turner Awards 2010. These awards are given to the individual or organisation who, through educational or instructional achievement, architectural design, writing or the development of original material, competitive performance, or by a continuing effort to establish swimming facilities, has made the most outstanding contribution to swimming at national or international level. If you wish to submit a nomination please send it to the Regional Office by 10 March 2010.</p>

                        <title>South East Aquatics Workforce Conference 2010</title>
                        <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>All teachers, coaches and coach educators in the South East - you are invited to attend:<br />
The South East Aquatics Workforce Conference <br />
Date: Saturday 26th June 2010 9.30 &amp;ndash; 5.30 at Sunningdale Park, Ascot Berkshire SL5 0QE</p>
<p>The day has been designed to cater for all Aquatics professionals with a focus on LTAD (Long Term Athlete Development) in a series of workshops and talks by high class speakers.</p>

                        <title>ASA South East Regional Bursary Scheme 2010/11</title>
                        <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Since its inception, the South East Region has provided bursaries to support the training of coaches and teachers.</p>
<p>For 2010/11, the Region will extend the scheme to provide more focus on the training of coaches, as this is key to the development of athletes.</p>
<p>Three candidates from a Swim21 Accredited club can receive a bursary award in one financial year (1st April 2010 to 31st March 2011) for UKCC Level 1 or Level 2 courses. In addition each club is entitled to apply for one candidate bursary towards a UKCC Level 3 qualification</p>
<p><br />
Awards will be made to off-set the cost of training and examinations. Maximum bursaries are:</p>
<p>ASA/UKCC Level 1 courses up to 66% <br />
ASA/UKCC Level 2 courses up to 66% <br />
ASA/UKCC Level 3 Coaching Bursary to a suitable candidate up to 75% of course costs. <br />
These bursaries will also support those candidates up-skilling from an old qualification to a new UKCC qualification</p>
<p>The Region will also give financial support to clubs for members attending the following CPD courses:</p>
<p>Safe Guarding and Protecting Children SCUK/IoS <br />
Coaching Disabled Performers SCUK <br />
Equity in your Coaching/Club for All SCUK <br />
Time to Listen IoS <br />
