British Swimming have announced their nominations for the Paralympic Games: Danielle Watts from Oxford and Louise Watkin from Redhill & Reigate have both been nominated. Congratulations.

Two more athletes from the region have joined Team GB: Olivia Allison and Jenna Randall will compete in the Synchronised Swimming "Duet" events. Well done to Olivia and Jenna. More...

Simon Burnett will now also be travelling to Beijing after being selected for the 4 x 100m Freestyle Relay. Well done Simon.

During the British Championships last week Gemma Spofforth (Portsmouth Northsea) qualified for Team GB in the 100m and 200m Backstroke. But what about the other disciplines?
Diver Peter Waterfield (Southampton) has already qualified for the 10m Individual Platform with his 8th place finish at the FINA World Cup earlier this year. The region's divers will be hoping to qualify for the Britain's other places in Manchester on 28th and 29th June.
In Synchronised Swimming, swimmers from Rushmoor will be heading to Beijing for the Olympic Qualification Tournament later this month.
Our potential paralympians will be competing for places at Ponds Forge from 25th to 27th April.

Great Britain has qualified for places in the following events:
- 2 quota places in the women's 10m individual platform
- 1 quota place in the men's 3m individual
- 1 quota place in the women's 3m individual
- 1 quota place in the men's 10m synchro
- 1 quota place in the women's 10m synchro
- 1 quota place in the men’s 3m synchro
- 1 quota place in the women's 3m synchro
Divers will be competing for the chance to fill these places in Manchester on 28th and 29th June.
