Accentuated Funding in support of Playground to Podium

Playground to Podium (P2P) is a series of targeted interventions aimed at helping young disabled people progress from PE and community sport to high-level performance and competition.

English Federation of Disability Sport (EFDS) are delighted that Playground to Podium has been chosen to receive additional funding to extend the project in the South East.  This funding is through Accentuate, a Legacy Trust UK funded project.

Open and Junior Championships: Entries Now Open

The 2009 Open and Junior Championships will be held at Aldershot Garrison pool on 7th and 8th November.  Full details of the event and how to enter are now available.  All entries must be received by midnight on Tuesday 20th October. 100m IM added to programme.

Sporting Apprentices Graduate

Ninety-four top athletes from the world of aquatics – including double Olympic Gold medallist Becky Adlington – graduated from the Advanced Apprenticeship in Sporting Excellence (AASE) on Saturday 28th March.  Two athletes from the region were honoured with “Advanced Apprentice of the Year” awards.
